K - 6 Game Sense Program
Sportspro’s Kindergarten – Yr6 Sports Game Sense Program presents enjoyable, safe, structured sports education lessons.
Game sense is an approach to modified sport that engages students in minor and modified game strategies and concepts through an inquiry-based learning approach. Students develop skills, strategies and tactics required to participate with success in games and sport that identify and develop all 15 fundamental movement skills in students through sport specific skill activities and modified sports games that incorporate Locomotion and movement awareness, Body awareness, Spatial awareness and Fine and Gross motor skills.
Designed to encourage students to identify, understand, embrace and utilise the skills, strategies and tactics of a sport through actual playing of modified games related to the sport and ultimately leading to the playing of the traditional sport.
Schools can elect to implement this program as a stand-alone program or in conjunction with any sport programs listed above.
Throughout the program students are exposed to a vast array of traditional and modified sports equipment.
The lessons incorporate specific demonstration, instruction and performance feedback and also incorporate active play in each sport.
Schools can select one or more of the following sport programs;

European Handball
Indoor Floor Hockey/Street Hockey
Futsal/Indoor soccer
Netball
Oz Tag/Eagle Tag
Soccer
Tee-ball/Softball
Touch Football
Ultimate Frisbee
Volleyball
Corner-ball
Dodge-ball
End-ball.
Lesson Timing can vary from 40 mins to 60 mins (to be determined by school) and a typical lesson structure is;
Warm-up game and stretch activity
Explanation and instruction of core movement, skill and performance
Student participation in activities
Student centred lesson review.
Student assessments and Program Running Sheets are all provided and included in the program cost.
Outcomes of the program specifically meet and align directly with the 2018 NESA PDHPE K – 10 Syllabus.
